Visa & Insurance
Consular/Visa Regulation

If you intend to travel to the UK to enroll on a course of studies which lasts 6 months (or more), you must obtain a Tier 4 (General) student visa before travelling to the UK.

If you are a Singaporean citizen or a citizen of another country on the UK non-visa nationals list, and if your course of studies is less than 6 months, you can apply for entry to the UK as a student visitor either prior to leaving your home country, or on arrival at UK immigration at the port of entry. If you are a citizen of a country not on the non-visa nationals list then you still must obtain a Tier 4 (General) student visa before travelling to the UK.

Health/Medical Insurance

Students registered at a Scottish university are entitled to treatment on the UK's National Health Service (NHS) for the duration of your study here.  You will register with the local health centre during the matriculation process which then entitles you to free health care (apart from dentistry work).  However, we do recommend that you keep any current health and travel insurance policies running for the duration of your studies in St Andrews.
