Curriculum Structure

While one-semester SEP may be possible, this is often difficult for FASS students, who would do better with a full-year SEP stint at Leeds as most FASS modules at Leeds carry 20 credits.

The full credit load for one semester at Leeds is 60 credits (this can be typically be between 3 to 6 modules, as most modules are worth either 10 or 20 credits each)

When proposing your SEP Study Plan to University of Leeds, you have to abide by this 60-credit limit while making sure that you can earning enough NUS modular credits equivalents to fulfil you degree requirements. Please engage your academics at your faculty/school when you do your Study Plan.

The number of contact hours is outlined in Leeds module catalogue for each module. It is important to note that students will be expected to do a lot of independent study and research in addition.

If you intend to travel to the UK to enrol on a course of studies which lasts 6 months (or more), you must obtain a Tier 4 (General) student visa before travelling to the UK.

If you are a Singaporean citizen or a citizen of another country on the UK non-visa nationals list, and if your course of studies is less than 6 months, you can apply for entry to the UK as a student visitor either prior to leaving your home country, or on arrival at UK immigration at the port of entry.  If you are a citizen of a country not on the non-visa nationals list then you still must obtain a Tier 4 (General) student visa before travelling to the UK.

Britain has a subsidized health service which provides free health care and treatment for people who are resident in Britain.

Students who are enrolled on a programme which will last for more than six months are also entitled to NHS treatment.

If a doctor prescribes any medicines these are subsidized but there will be a charge made for each prescription - currently 5.75 UK Pounds per item.

Dental treatment is subsidized by NHS but everyone has to pay something towards the cost of their treatment.
