Curriculum Structure |

While one-semester SEP may be possible, this is often difficult for FASS students, who would do better with a full-year SEP stint at Leeds as most FASS modules at Leeds carry 20 credits. The full credit load for one semester at Leeds is 60 credits (this can be typically be between 3 to 6 modules, as most modules are worth either 10 or 20 credits each) When proposing your SEP Study Plan to University of Leeds, you have to abide by this 60-credit limit while making sure that you can earning enough NUS modular credits equivalents to fulfil you degree requirements. Please engage your academics at your faculty/school when you do your Study Plan. The number of contact hours is outlined in Leeds module catalogue for each module. It is important to note that students will be expected to do a lot of independent study and research in addition. |

Please check with SEP Administrator in the Dean’s Office for actual application dates in each faculty. Students must be nominated by their faculty in order to be eligible to apply for fee-wavier exchange with University of Leeds. The online application deadline for semester 1 and full year exchange is 31 Mar and for semester 2 is 31 Oct. Applicants must upload their supporting documents as part of the online application form as University of Leeds no longer accept any supporting documents by post, email or fax. Please follow the specific requirements about the format of the documents that are uploaded, and Leeds expect to receive one PDF document per student. Students should not submit any extra documents not requested by the Study Abroad Office (please see the full list of documents and guidelines on Leeds website). Britain has a subsidized health service which provides free health care and treatment for people who are resident in Britain. Students who are enrolled on a programme which will last for more than six months are also entitled to NHS treatment. If a doctor prescribes any medicines these are subsidized but there will be a charge made for each prescription - currently 5.75 UK Pounds per item. Dental treatment is subsidized by NHS but everyone has to pay something towards the cost of their treatment. |
