Health/Medical Insurance |
||||||||||||
Student should carry adequate accident and health insurance coverage with provisions for emergency evacuation/rescuer’s expense and repatriation for both durations of studies in Taiwan and travels within/outside Taiwan. A copy of a valid insurance plan must be provided upon registration. International Students residing in Taiwan for more than 4 months are eligible to participate in the Taiwanese National Health Insurance (NHI) program; but the NHI reimbursement is very limited. Therefore, all exchange students are required to have their own medical and accident insurance to ensure sufficient coverage during their exchange period in Taiwan. If you should fail to obtain proof of insurance from your home country, it is compulsory to purchase an additional accident insurance in Taiwan. Refer to http://www.nhi.gov.tw for more details. Please refer to the Other Links Section for the relevant links to the university’s insurance policies. |
