Vilnius University (Lithuanian: Vilniaus Universitetas, formerly known as Vilnius State University), is one of the oldest universities in both the Baltic states and Europe. It is also the oldest and largest university in Lithuania. On March 11, 1990, Lithuania declared independence, and the University regained autonomy. Since 1991, Vilnius University has been a signatory to the Magna Charta of the European Universities. The University is a member of the European University Association (EUA) and the Conference of Baltic University Rectors.

Housing Options |

Dormitories are situated in Saulėtekio or Olandų Street. They are close enough to the faculties. The time that is necessary to reach a faculty or any other object depends on their geographical location and the traffic causes Accommodation in Vilnius University international dormitories is available only for Vilnius University students. Application for Accommodation must be submitted at least two months before the scheduled arrival and sent by fax (+370 5 268 7069) or regular mail.

Singaporean and Malaysian citizens do not Require Visas to enter the Republic of Lithuania. For this group of students, visa arrangements are done in Lithuania, Migration Office, as soon as the student arrives. If a visa is required, non degree students from non-EU countries must get visa D. The necessary documents to be submitted to the Migration Department or the nearest Lithuanian Embassy:
