Studying in Ireland
 

Ireland’s tertiary institutes offer degrees in Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate levels in vast range of disciplines. The higher education in Ireland is internationally recognized for its excellence in scientific research and most notably, its contributions in fiber optics technology. Several of its universities are amongst the top 500 in university world rankings. With the high quality of education, it draws and plays host to many international students each year.

There are a total of seven higher education establishments in the Republic of Ireland. The oldest being the University of Dublin, Trinity College (TCD) which was founded in 1592. Its academic year is divided into two semesters.

With an average economic growth rate of 6% between the years 1995 and 2006, Ireland earned itself the title “Celtic Tiger”. The government policies that dictate the tremendous growth in economy will definitely be a good case study for students who are studying in the related areas.

Besides academic life, students can also take learn and take part in traditional Irish popular sporting activities such as Gaelic football, hurling and camogie (the women's variant of hurling).
