The University of Konstanz was founded in 1965. Due to the youth of the University, it is a leading pioneer in many areas of modern research and offers a variety of courses in fields of Science, Economics, Politics and Humanities. The university closely monitors the industry and its rapid developments in the field of science and technology. Students thus benefit from the exposure to the latest technological concepts and ideas.

The university's population of 9200 students has students and lecturers from all over the world; the university has a large international profile with students from up to 80 countries. Students are well exposed to cultural diversity and this rich source of an international knowledge base ensures that students receive a well-rounded and informative education.

Please check with your faculty for its internal application deadlines. After you have been selected by and accepted your faculty’s internal offer, your faculty would give you the application instructions of the partner university. An online application to the partner university is needed.

 
Accommodations
Housing Options

Konstanz is among the German university cities with the most student housing and the amount of available private housing has also increased. Nevertheless, there is not enough inexpensive housing to meet needs. In order to find a room or apartment at a reasonable price, one must start the search as early as possible

At present, there are 16 Halls in Konstanz, Ravensburg and Weingarten including about 2443 rooms.

 
Visa & Insurance
Consular/Visa Regulation

Exchange students have to obtain a long-term visa (residence permit). Applications for the permits must be submitted through the German Embassy in Singapore. For further information please refer to: www.singapur.diplo.de (Culture & Education > Studying in Germany > Visa information).

Health/Medical Insurance

Mandatory public health insurance: approx. 65 Euro per month
