Curriculum Structure |
|
UTC's engineering curriculum is organized in semesters with a modular course structure, allowing freedom of choice. Like in the American university system, students must respect some guidelines to ensure both competence in the engineering field and a good general education.
During their studies, students must spend two six-month periods of internships/projects in industry, in France or abroad. These internships/projects complement the students’ scientific and practical knowledge acquired at the university and provide a solid basis for their professional career. The Internship Service and the International Relations Directorate helps students to find their internships.
For exchange students, a four week intensive French course is organized before the beginning of each semester. It is free of charge for students of exchange partners and is followed by a special "Integration week" for counselling and orientation.

Consular/Visa Regulation |
|
A residence permit is compulsory for non European students who stay more than three months in France, except for the students having a visa for six months or more. It is valid for one year and the request for its renewal must be done two months before the expiration. It can be rapidly obtained thanks to a partnership between UTC and the "Sous-Préfecture" in Compiègne, within the two months following the arrival in France. UTC also provides incoming students with tailor made free international bank account options. Each student must check the most up to date information about the visa and permit rules according to their home country.

Health/Medical Insurance |
|
All students must be covered by French National Student Health Insurance (Sécurité sociale) in order to qualify for full-time student status.
As full time students you will be required by French law to adhere to the national social security system for your health coverage. The cost is low, and allows you access to all doctors. It is recommended that you pay a minimal extra fee for complementary insurance so that your coverage will be 100%.
