Located in an outstanding geographical area in the middle of the French Alps, Pierre Mendès France University of Grenoble welcomes every year more than 19,000 students, among whom 3 000 are foreign students. The University offers a wide range of teaching programs in Social and Human Sciences such as Economy, Law, Government, Management, History, Art History, Philosophy, Town Planning, Psychology, Sociology, Education sciences, Musicology, Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences.

The University consists in a number of Training and Research Units, Schools and Institutes (in French: UFRs), where these various subjects are proposed.

Accommodations
Housing Options

A number of housing options are available to students. Traditional student halls (CROUS) cost around €120 per month for a single room and €80 per student per month for a shared room. Renovated student halls and studios cost from €250 to €320 per month. Private accommodation is also available.

Rooms can be booked in advance in residence. A link is sent by email to each exchange student to fulfill the online application.

Health/Medical Insurance

198€/year – student health insurance is mandatory for each student under 28 and staying in France more than three months.
