Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), founded in 1896, is one of the oldest universities in China. Shanghai Jiao Tong University has beautiful campuses and modern facilities.  It is a member of C9 League, an association of nine top Chinese universities.

Study Abroad and Exchange students are able to take a wide range of subjects across a number of Faculties and Schools at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Accommodation
Housing Options

On-campus accommodation:

On-campus accommodation is available at Tao Li Yuan Dorm, Lian Xing Building and Hall of Residence No.9 at Xuhui Campus. Each room is equipped with bathroom, colour TV, direct-dial telephone, air-conditioner and internet connection. Additional facilities such as kitchen and washing-machine are for public use. Students have to submit the application form to SJTU. On-campus accommodation during semester breaks is available.

Visa & Insurance
Consular/Visa Regulations

A student visa is required (F visa of 180 days for 1 semester exchange with no physical examination required and X visa for 1 year exchange)

Apply at the Visa Service Center (22 Malacca Street) with the admission notice and visa application form (JW202) issued by Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Health/Medical Insurance

Students should carry adequate accident and sickness insurance coverage with provisions for emergency evacuation/rescuer’s expenses and repatriation for both durations of your studies in China and travels within/outside China.

If you have not bought international insurance in your home country, the school will provide insurance at the registration. The insurance premium will be supported by the students. Insurance premium and coverage: ¥100/semester for non-degree students, including unforeseen injury insurance; ¥600/semester for degree students, including unforeseen injury medical insurance, and hospitalization medical insurance.
