The Harbin Institute of Technology, or HIT, is colloquially known as Hagongda. It is a research intensive university which consists of three campuses: the main campus in Harbin, HIT in Weihai and HIT Shenzhen Graduate School. HIT is consistently ranked among the best engineering schools. It is also a member of the C9 League, which was formed by nine prestigious universities in China in 2009.
Harbin Institute of Technology is organized into 21 full-time schools, which hold 79 undergraduate degree programs, 176 master programs, 81 doctorate programs. Even though most of the schools are in science and engineering areas, it also has several schools in humanity, social science, and management.

Consular/Visa Regulations |
|
A student visa is required (F visa of 180 days for 1 semester exchange with no physical examination required and X visa for 1 year exchange)
Apply at the Visa Service Center (22 Malacca Street) with the admission notice and visa application form (JW202) issued by Harbin Institute of Technology.

Health/Medical Insurance |
|
All international students are required by the PRC MOE to obtain a personal insurance if they intend to study in China over 6 months.
Students can purchase insurance at home or in China.
Insurance premiums offered in China range from RMB600/12 months, RMB300/6 months to RMB120/person/month in China.
