Visa & Insurance
Consular/Visa Regulations

The Canadian Government has two main types of immigration documents: permits and visas.

A study permit is required for anyone that wants to study in Canada for 6 months or more.  A temporary resident (entry) visa is required by citizens of some countries to enter Canada.

Exchange students studying in Canada for less than 6 months i.e. one semester, need not apply for a Study Permit.
Health/Medical Insurance

The University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) is a mandatory insurance to pay the cost of the hospital and medical services that international students and their families may need during their stay in Canada while registered at the University. The fee is both compulsory and charged as part of your tuition and fees which can be viewed on WebAdvisor.
