Located on the banks of the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia (WA), the University is WA’s most established tertiary institution. The University, which opened in 1913, has acquired an international reputation for excellence and enterprise. It is regarded as one of Australia's top research institutions.
The University is also a member of Australia’s Group of Eight Universities.

Curriculum Structure |
|
Exchange students are expected to enrol in a full academic work load of 24 points per semester (equivalent to 4 courses). Most courses have a value of 6 credit points.

Housing Options |
|
On-campus accommodation:
There are five residential colleges affiliated with UWA. All five colleges are situated in pleasant surroundings across the road from the university. Some of them have relations to certain churches but applications are considered irrespective of religion.
Off-campus accommodation:
The University's Housing Office can provide information on other accommodation options for students. Options include shared accommodation, private board and homestay. Fees cost about AUD$950 per month, excluding bond fees of about 5 weeks rent.

Consular/Visa Regulations |
|
Exchange students must enter Australia with a sub-class 575 non-award student visa and not a tourist visa. Before they can for a visa students will need a letter of offer from the University and a Certificate of Enrolment (CoE).
|
|
Health/Medical Insurance |
|
All international students studying in Australia are required to purchase an approved Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) policy. OSHC is a condition of the Overseas Student Visa issued by the Australian Immigration authorities. The cost is approximately AUD$210 for 6 months and AUD$385 for 12 months. OSHC can be purchased through the university.
