Established in 1874, the University of Adelaide is Australia's third oldest and among the finest universities in Australia. The University of Adelaide has four campuses (North Terrace, Roseworthy, The Waite, The Barton), each with a distinctive profile. An innovative and forward-looking University, Adelaide’s major strengths are in biological and physical sciences, information technology and telecommunications, environmental sciences and social sciences.

The University of Adelaide is also a member of Australia’s Group of Eight Universities.

Curriculum Structure

Exchange students must be enrolled full time throughout their stay under the Australian visa regulation.

A regular full time load is between 9 units (equivalent to 3 courses) and a maximum of 12 units (equivalent to 4 courses).

Accommodation
Housing Options

On-campus accommodation:

The University Managed Accommodation includes The Village, which is ideal for students who are new to the University of Adelaide, the CITI Townhouses, which is a group of stylish, fully furnished 3-bedroom townhouses, and Mattanya, which is a group of 4-5 bedroom houses located in North Adelaide. The average cost per month is between AUD$690 – AUD$900.

There are also five residential colleges affiliated with the University, which are located close to the city and within 15-25 minutes walking distances to the campuses. Rates ranges from AUD$804 - AUD$1320 per month (depending on the provision of meals), other miscellaneous fees like application and administration fees range from AUD$150 to AUD$200.

Visa & Insurance
Consular/Visa Regulations

Exchange students must enter Australia with a sub-class 575 non-award student visa and not a tourist visa. Before they can for a visa students will need a letter of offer from the University and a Certificate of Enrolment (CoE).

Health/Medical Insurance

All international students studying in Australia are required to purchase an approved Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) policy. OSHC is a condition of the Overseas Student Visa issued by the Australian Immigration authorities. The cost is approximately AUD$210 for 6 months and AUD$385 for 12 months.
