Peer Advising Programme

Returning Exchange Students

Welcome Home!

Hmmm.... Why do we get the feeling you’re not THAT happy to be back? We know because we’ve been there before. We understand that being away for so long and getting back to your old life presents a unique set of difficulties.

The Peer Advising Leaders want you to know that you have not been forgotten just because your exchange is over. The Peer Advising Program is just as much for returning students as it is for the incoming exchange students and outgoing students. If you’re wondering how we can help, here’s a list of things we do just for you:

  • We connect you to other returning students who are facing the same re-integration problems you’re facing
  • We organize a re-entry briefing for returning students
  • We provide you with opportunities to help outgoing students prepare for their exchange (you get to live vicariously through them)
  • We put you in touch with incoming exchange students who are eager to make friends from NUS

Re-entry Briefing

Before the start of every semester, the Peer Advising Leaders put together a Re-entry briefing for our returning students who wish to learn more about readjusting to NUS life. The briefing conducted by IRO covers issues such as Reverse Culture Shock. Returning students who have attended the briefing have expressed how enlightening the programme was for them.
