International Relations Office SEP Ambassador Training for Outgoing SEP Students
Hello NUS Exchange Students!
Well done on being accepted to the Student Exchange Programme (SEP)! We trust that you are looking forward to your exchange experience.
NUS International Relations Office (IRO) would like to invite all outgoing NUS SEP students to become NUS SEP Ambassadors. Please see below on why and how to become an NUS SEP Ambassador.
Please note that the SEP Ambassador Training is different from the Pre-Departure Sessions which you will also be invited to by IRO.
Why become an NUS SEP Ambassador?
As you no doubt know, the Student Exchange Programme works on the concept of reciprocity, i.e. NUS hosts a number of students similar to the number we send every year. Being an NUS exchange student, you are expected to undertake an important role in representing NUS and Singapore while you are at your host institution and country, so that prospective incoming exchange students continue to consider NUS as a preferred and favourable destination!
Some of your host Universities may also have Study Abroad Fairs while you are there, and you may well be asked to represent NUS at these fairs during your SEP.
The NUS SEP Ambassador Training is designed to:
|
You are strongly encouraged to attend the training and we hope as many of you will come along as possible. We promise to make it fun and interactive!
The training programme also provides a platform for you to meet other students going to the same institution or the same region as you! They might turn out to be your travel buddy as you do your leisure travelling while on exchange!
For students who are not able to attend the training programme but wish to contribute as an NUS SEP Ambassador, please contact the relevant country manager for the region that you are going to (please contact us via the ask IRO portal, a link for this can be found near the top right corner of the IRO webpages) for further details.
When does the training take place?
Details of the training sessions will be posted here, along with links on how to sign up. The training sessions will be held a few weeks prior to the beginning of each semester, before you leave to go on your SEP.
Exact location of each session will also be confirmed here, but it will always be held at the Kent Ridge campus.
The slides from the recent training sessions, held in Nov and Dec 2012, can be seen here. Please contact us if you wish to use any of the slides within this presentation and do not make any amendments to them.
