What were your impressions of Singapore before you came?
Kimberley: Before I came, I heard and I had friends who told me all about the tropical climate and that it would rain everyday so I was pretty prepared for rain. And they told me it was a very pretty place and that if I came there and didn’t enjoy myself then I was doing something wrong. I was really excited about coming here.
Now that you’re here, what do you think?
Kimberley: It’s a really pretty country. It’s very scenic. There are a lot of trees here, I mean, even the downtown’s real pretty. Downtown Houston is all cement… here there’s greenery!
What do you like most about Singapore?
Kimberley: Shopping is really convenient here and there’s shops everywhere! And the weather… the heat makes me smile! Some of the companies that we visited were pretty impressive and the people are really nice and welcoming. They do everything to make sure we’re happy such as hosting us for dinner … Sure, sometimes we get strange looks on the MRT but on the whole people have been really friendly.
What do you least like about Singapore?
Kimberley: The food. Well, some of it’s good. I’ve had some real good food. But I think some of it needs some getting used to.
What did you think of Little India?
Kimberley: Everything’s so new and amazing. I enjoyed seeing and knowing more about a different culture and a new way of living.
