My NUS Experience
![]() |
Tristan Alexander David Rendall I had a fantastic time there, I met loads of amazing people from all over the world (including some friends for life!) and done things I never would have anticipated doing in Sydney. I took advantage of the close proximity to the rest of SE Asia and travelled extensively to Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and China, including a YEP [Youth Expedition Project] trip to Yunnan, China and time on Ko Phi Phi in Thailand helping out with tsunami relief projects. I ate durian, I began speaking Singlish (wah lao!) and I began to find 28 degrees cold! I even saw myself wearing jeans and a sweater in May!! The modules I studied gave me an insight into the region beyond anything my university could offer and I still keep in contact with some of my professors. All it took was a change of mindset – a realisation that life is there for the taking. You have to take the first step, but once you do, there is no looking back – it really is the experience of a lifetime! |
