SEP Ambassador Training Programme

International Relations Office SEP Ambassador Training for Incoming SEP Students

Hello Exchangers!

We hope you have enjoyed your stay at NUS so far!

NUS International Relations Office (IRO) would like to invite all incoming exchange students to become NUS SEP Ambassadors. Please see below on why and how to become an NUS SEP Ambassador.

Why become an NUS SEP Ambassador?

As you no doubt know, the Student Exchange Programme works on the concept of reciprocity, i.e. NUS hosts a number of students similar to the number we send every year.  Being an exchange student living and studying in NUS for one semester or longer, you can become an NUS SEP Ambassador to share the knowledge you have learned about NUS with your peers and encourage them to come to NUS too!  The SEP Ambassador training programme is to equip you with the information on NUS and tips on how to make the best of your stay at NUS.

Some of the universities in your home countries may also have Study Abroad Fairs which NUS may be invited to participate in. It would be great if you could work with NUS’ Outgoing Ambassadors to assist at the fairs.

By participating in the programme, you will be informed whenever we have NUS students on exchange at your home university.  You can be a buddy to the NUS exchangers and welcome them to your home university.

The NUS SEP Ambassador Training is designed to:

  • Help you understand more about NUS and Singapore.
  • Provide you with additional tips that you can share with your peers who are planning to come to NUS.
  • Give you the opportunity to make new friends with other international and local students
  • Offer you a chance to promote your home university.

Must I attend?

You are strongly encouraged to attend the training and we hope as many of you will come along as possible.  We promise to make it fun and interactive!

The training programme also provides a platform for you to meet other exchangers and share your experiences in NUS! You might meet other students who turn out to be your travel buddy as you do your leisure travelling in South East Asia before the semester ends!

When does the training take place?

The training sessions will be held towards the end of semester, before you leave to return to your home university.

Exact date, time and location of each session will be publicised at the NUS Calendar of Events. The administrator will be sending you an email to confirm your registration. A special "Student Ambassador" polo t-shirt will be given to you when you attend the training programme.
