The name, Norwegian University of Science & Technology (NTNU), is rather misleading as NTNU is a comprehensive university, and can thus be an option even for Arts and Humanities students.
NTNU is situated in Trondheim, the third largest city in Norway. Known as the technological capital, dynamic Trondheim continually spins out many new companies in sectors ranging from automation to telecommunications.
Trondheim is also called a university town because one in every five Norwegians graduates from NTNU. NTNU has several campuses across the town, the main ones being Gløshaugen for Engineering/Science and Dragvoll for Arts/Social Science.
Many major student festivals like Uka and ISFiT are held in Trodheim. Students can join the largest sports association NTNUI in Trondheim. Norwegian is usually used during lectures. English lectures are only available in higher years like third, fourth and master's years.
