The University of Stuttgart , formally a Technical University , was founded in 1829 which marked the beginning of the rise of the industrial age in the region. Stuttgart made a name for itself due to the scholars that passed through it and it gained an important technical and economical position. Its area of expertise is in the sciences, engineering and architectural fields which can be seen by its top position in its specialized research areas.

Graduates of the University of Stuttgart are prepared for international competition at a very early stage during their course. The University's 18500 student population has an extremely large international student representation (25%). In addition to that, more and more courses are being offered in English to prepare the German students for the world.

Stuttgart – Centre of German Rap

Stuttgart is situated in the state of Baden-Wüttemberg and is on of the major industrial centers in Germany . At the same time, Stuttgart offers a variety of cultures, enough to cater for almost everyone. You can find many opera houses, theatres and cinemas, concert halls and galleries. Stuttgart is also known to be the centre of German rap. Stuttgart is a green city; forests and parks cover the majority of the city. As well as this beautiful natural ambience, you can soak in the historic city centre with hosts numerous cafés and shopping malls.

Language of Instruction

With the exception of all foreign language courses, lectures at the University of Stuttgart are held in German. The University offers intensive German courses before and during term time.

Housing Options
The University of Stuttgart has its own Halls of Residence; however places are limited. Applications must be received before the given deadline in order to secure a hall place. Students may also opt to rent accommodation off-campus. Types of accommodation available can range from an individual room to 2-10 room apartments.
