Bonn - the Heart of Germany

Bonn is the heart of Germany ! Not true, you think? Well, this may no longer be strictly true for the world of politics and government, but it's becoming reality for the world of science and research. Ever since the German Parliament moved to Berlin, the Bonn region has made huge and successful efforts to turn itself into an internationally recognized science region - with the university as one of the most dynamic forces driving this structural change.

Despite its strong extensive efforts to transform itself into an international science region, Bonn has still beautifully maintained its historical buildings which are all memories of its rich history and culture. These buildings are still being used today; either as tourist attractions or as offices. Another historical item very well maintained is Beethoven's statue in the Münster Platz ( Münster Square ). Bonn was his birthplace and the house where he was born is very well kept as well.

Language of Instruction

With the exception of all foreign language courses, lectures at the University of Bonn are held in German. The University offers intensive German courses before and during term time.
