The Technical University of Munich (TUM) has a student population of 20000 over students, 19% being international students. This percentage is very high amongst German Universities and shows TUM's effort to create international awareness. In addition to its high international student percentage, TUM founded its first ever Overseas-Dependence in 2002, the ‘German Institute of Science and Technology', whose head office is situated right here in Singapore .

Founded in 1868, TUM is Bavaria 's only remaining Technical University . Its continuous contributions to the states' society and has helped bring Bavaria from an agricultural state to a leading industrial state in Europe .

TUM has recently opened two new faculties, the Business School and the Faculty of Sports Science.

Munich - Not just Football

Munich is a very historic city with its many monuments and restaurants. It is a particular hot spot in Germany due to its location so close the Alps , which is a popular skiing place. The city itself houses many libraries and museums, cinemas and theatre/opera houses. Not to mention its sporting record, being host to the Olympic games, Soccer World Cup and of course its very own soccer team FC Bayern Munich.

Language of Instruction

With the exception of all foreign language courses, lectures at TUM are held in German. TUM offers intensive German courses before and during term time.

Housing Options
TUM does not have its own Halls of Residence; however Student Services help students get accommodated provided applications are made before the given deadline. Types of accommodation available can range from an individual room to 2-3 room apartments. Costs can range from €125 - €250 per month depending on the type of accommodation requested.
