Being one of the youngest Univesrity in Germany , the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH) has many unique characteristics, ones which can benefit students in many ways. Its low student population of 5000 students enables the university to have a very high student-staff ratio, which gives students the best opportunities to learn and gain more experience from professionals. The atmosphere on campus has been described to be fresh and young, an ideal place for young minds to meet and interact.

At TUHH, research comes first. With the university's core emphasis being on Engineering and Sciences, it aims to conduct research of high quality to serve the people.

Hamburg-Harburg – Water-front City

Hamburg , a water-front city, is situated in the north of Germany . Its port takes up about 10% of the city's geographical expanse and is an international trade and traffic junction between countries overseas, the Baltic region and the commercial centers in the West. Hamburg has said to be a cultural city, with its lively theatre scenes and numerous museums. As well as being culturally inclined, the sports scene in Hamburg is very active, especially sea sports. Hamburg holds a yearly marathon on top that as well.

Language of Instruction

With the exception of all foreign language courses, lectures at TUHH are held in German. The University offers intensive German courses before and during term time.

Housing Options
TUHH has its own Halls of Residence; however places are limited and are reserved for exchange students only. Students can also opt to rent accommodation off campus; types of accommodation available can range from an individual room to 2-3 room apartments. Costs can range from €200 - €300 per month depending on the type of accommodation requested.
