Université Pierre Mendès-France (UPMF) is the state university for the social sciences in Grenoble. It covers a wide range of subjects and is actively involved in international partnerships.
The university specializes in social and human sciences, finding strength in diversity: diversity of teaching, research, target groups and partners. UPMF is open to dialogue, with a long tradition of exchanges, reflected in numerous cooperation agreements, both between its own components and with other universities in France and abroad. UPMF is rising to contemporary challenges, notably the construction of a European Higher Education Space, through a range of pluridisciplinary courses, well organised research in tune with the concerns of society and an environment in which the student is the leading player.
