Sciences Po Grenoble, or Institut d'études politiques (IEP) de Grenoble, is a political science grande école located in the campus of the University of Grenoble in Saint-Martin d'Hères, France. The IEP Grenoble was founded in 1948 with the mission of providing France with public and private sector executives. Its courses and degrees are modelled under the supervision of the National Foundation of Political Sciences. Due to the selective entrance exam, the IEP Grenoble can be considered a grande école. It is somewhat different due to the pluri-disciplinary curriculum that gives students means of understanding the modern world.
The curriculum is meant to give students a strong knowledge in different social sciences fields (Political Science, Public Law, Economics, History, International Relations, Sociology) and working methods that enable them to be flexible and adapt themselves no matter what field they decide to work in. Students are taught at least two foreign languages and spend one year abroad.
The IEP of Grenoble is famous for its courses in political science. It is home to the Centre d'Informatisation des Données Socio-Politiques (CIDSP), one of the most important research centres in political science in France.
Language of Instruction: English/French
With the exception of certain courses pertaining to Anglophone-related history or culture, all other courses are in the French language.
(NUS Centre for Language Studies offers courses in French language to prepare students going to France on student exchange.)
