Lyon, France
Institution Profile

http://www.insa-lyon.fr/

Located in the premises of the Science and Technology Park of la Doua in Villeurbanne, INSA Lyon is ranked among the top universities in Science and Technology in Europe.

INSA Lyon has set its sights to consolidate its position as one of the best Technological Higher Education Establishments in Europe. The University places pedagogical innovations at the core of its training programme, in order to produce engineers who possess qualities of innovation and entrepreneurship.

INSA Lyon is also a place where students can achieve personal fulfillment: accommodation in residences on-campus, a flourishing social life, sports activities, arts-studies options and classes in languages, communication and management.

Language of Instruction: French/English

The main language of instruction is French, with limited courses in English. An intensive French course is organized for foreign exchange students covering four weeks prior to the beginning of the September or February semesters.

(NUS Centre for Language Studies also offers courses in French language to prepare students going to France on student exchange.)

Academics

INSA Lyon offers a myriad of courses in Computing, Engineering and Science. The upcoming timetable will only be available about one month before a new semester, so do plan your modules carefully.

List of courses available:

Please Note:

NUS students can also apply for a research attachment at INSA Lyon, or a mixture of courses and research. This is subject to approval from your home Faculty.

The programme entitled “Master MEGA” is not available to exchange students.

You are allowed to map higher level modules such as Year 3 to Year 5 modules should you fulfil the scientific pre-requisite(s).

When you take modules in the same year within one department you have the guarantee that there will be no time-table clashes. If you take courses in different years and/or departments then you can expect time-table clashes.

The time schedule of each department is known one month before the beginning of the semester.

Academic Calendar:

Semester I:           Beginning Sept - End Jan
Semester II:          Beginning Feb - End Jun
