Industry and research go hand-in-hand in Grenoble, France's second most important research site after Paris and one of the world's top five centers for research in physics. It is made up of 9 engineering schools, offering 10 engineering degrees. Grenoble is also one of Europe's foremost scientific and technological centers in the fields of microelectronics, computer science, hydraulics, materials, chemistry, paper engineering and nuclear studies.
Grenoble's international status was confirmed by the status of European University and Scientific Pole in 1992.
Language of Instruction: French/ English
Most classes at INPG are offered in French, with selected modules in English. There are also French language classes offered through INPG and CUEF-Université Stendhal, University Centre for French Studies, both during the summer and the academic year.
A summer program is also available for students looking forward to hone their French language abilities.
(NUS Centre for Language Studies offers courses in French language to prepare students going to France on student exchange.)
Courses include pariticipation in Nanotech and in the international MSc program FAME (Functionalised Advanced Materials and Engineering of Hybrids and Ceramics) with TUD, UCL and INPG among other partners
A Summer Program is also available with its contents entirely in English and designed specifically for foreign students. Interested students can complete the form at this link and submit to the faculties latest by 2 March 2007.

Housing Options
Rooms and one room apartments are available at the university residences. Students can also stay in rented private housings. The rooms in the university residences cost between €132 to €146, the apartments between €300 and €400 while the private housings cost between €250 and €460 per month.
