One of France’s prestigious Grandes Ecoles, Ecole Centrale de Lyon (Centrale Lyon) is the ideal location to educate aspiring engineers, as well as to train highly skilled corporate executives and to help keep them at their peak throughout their career. Nestled in the scenic area of the French Rhône-Alpes, Centrale Lyon ensures that it provides an excellent standard of teaching and research by employing lecturers and professors of high calibre. Teachers from abroad are regularly invited on residencies of several months' duration as well.
Similar to the other 4 Ecoles Centrales, Centrale Lyon is made up of a 2-year broad-based multidisciplinary common core course, involving both scientific (chemistry, applied physics, physics, mechanics, mathematics, computer science, etc.) and management-focused, cultural and foreign language courses. The 3rd year course focuses on pre-specialisation in one of the previously studied courses.
Centrale Lyon embraces students who come from all over the world. Partnerships and exchange agreements with international reputable universities increase the vibrancy and dynamics of the student population. Being included in TIME - Top Industrial Managers for Europe is certainly a significant sign that Centrale Lyon has what it takes to perform on the international as well as local stage, attracting students from all over and producing over 300 promising graduates each year.
Language of Instruction: French
Other than the language courses, all courses at Centrale Lyon are conducted in French.
(NUS Centre for Language Studies also offers courses in French language to prepare students going to France on student exchange.)
