The University of Innsbruck was founded in 1669 and is currently the largest education facility in the Austrian Bundesland of Tirol and third largest in Austria according to student population, behind Vienna University and Graz University.Comprising of 15 faculties, The university buildings are spread across the city and there is no university campus as such.  

Innsbruck is a lively city in western Austria with a convenient transport system. Due to its location in between high mountains, Innsbruck also serves as an ideal place for skiing in winter, and mountaineering in summer. Innsbruck is also one of the host cities for Euro 2008 which is to be held in Switzerland and Austria.

Cost of Living

The University of Innsbruck does not have its own Halls of Residence; however there are student residences available to students. The Austrian Exchange Services can help students get accommodated if applications are received before the specified deadlines along with deposit payment. It is estimated that accommodation in Innsbruck should cost around €300 per month.

The cost of living is estimated to be around €720 per month which includes accommodation, food, books and entertainment.
