The founding of Seoul National University (SNU) in 1946 marked the opening of the first national university in modern Korean history. The main campus, Kwanak campus, with an area of is situated at the foot of the magnificent Kwanak Mountains. Its 2 other campuses are known as Yongon (the medical campus) and Suwon (the agricultural campus). The entire campus is a magnificent 192,366 km squares wide. SNU offers its students outstanding cultural and recreational benefits; it also offers them a wide variety of entertainment opportunities in the city of Seoul. The courses are mostly taught in the Korean Language.

Exchange students should obtain a minimum of 17 credits for undergraduate course and 12 credits for post-graduate course.

 
Housing Options

On-campus accommodation
Kwanak-sa Dormitory, Yongon-sa, Hamchoon-sa Dormitory (Yongon Campus), International House (Dongsung-dong), Family House, BK International House.

Off-campus accommodation:
Private boarding house or take self-boarding in Shillim or Bongchon area near the University. For private house, the rent is approximately 350,000 - 400,000 won per month. If you share a room with a mate, the cost will decrease to about 250,000 - 300,000 won per person per month.

 
Additional Information

Insurance:
Since student medical service offers minimal coverage, the student should obtain comprehensive personal health and accident insurance. The insurance should be effective from the time the student enrolls. (http://www.snu.ac.kr/engsnu/)
