Korea University (KU) launches its "Vision 2005" program, aimed at improving the standard of education and quality of student life. With 14 colleges spread over three campuses in two cities, Korea University is the largest private institution of higher education in the country. Its reputation for quality education is unmatched by any other institution in the nation. Almost all the courses are taught in the Korean Language.

The full time course load for undergraduate student is a minimum of 12 credit hours and a maximum of 19 credits hours per semester. Most modules are worth 3 credits.

Korea University’s International Summer Campus (ISC) Programme:
The International Summer Campus (ISC) Programme is conducted during the special term of June to August. Each ISC course condenses a full semester into 6 weeks. ISC provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn about Korea through academic and cultural immersion.  Selected students will get to intern at Chaebols or reputable Korean companies.

Housing Options

On campus accommodation: CJ International House is an air-conditioned, suite style facility for 258 men and women. CJ International House offers doubles and singles and has semi-private baths. Bathroom facilities are connected to the suite and are shared by the suitemates. Housing custodial staff cleans bathroom on a weekly basis. The fees range from 780 000 to 2 000 000 won per semester or 151 800 won per month.

Additional Information

Most students can eat adequately with a food budget of 250,000 won per month. Buses are relatively cheap. They have a fixed price of 700 won for the regular ones, and 1400 won for the express ones. Subway rates range from 700 won (Zone 1) to 2,500 won.

Insurance:
Students are strongly advised to purchase health insurance before coming to Korea. Student Health Insurance is mandatory for foreign students. The cost for one semester is approximately 20,000 won. However, this insurance covers only about 45% of the cost incurred, so the student must pay the remaining 55%. Furthermore, the Student Health Insurance does not cover major illness of accidents.
