Kyushu University has almost a century of history. In the hilly district west of Fukuoka, the university is constructing the new campus, which should be able to start relocating in 2005. The University aims to create an environment where students can enjoy studying as well as living on campus. The new campus will not only be for students, but will also be open to the public. The courses are taught in the Japanese Language.

On-campus accommodation: Kyushu University International House

A simple room of six tatami mat size is around about 6,000 yen.

 
Additional Information

A student should budget around 80,000 to 110,000 yen for a monthly Living expenses (Food is around 30,000 to 45,000 yen, Lodging is around 30,000 to 40,000 yen, Academic costs (books) is around 5,000 yen, Miscellaneous around 15,000 yen, excluding university fees)

Insurance:
All students are required to maintain valid health insurance during their stay in Japan. Students without their own insurance cover are thus required to subscribe to the Japanese national insurance program on their arrival in Japan, if students are spending the full academic year in Kyushu. Students must agree to do so prior to final admission into the JTW Program. Japanese National Health Insurance (NHI) policy costs about 17,000 yen per year with premium payments spread out over monthly installments.
