City University of Hong Kong (CityU) was established in 1984. It is strategically located at the heart of the city, with close proximity to the interchange station of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) and the Kowloon-Canton Railway (KCR).
It is ranked 147th among the world’s top 200 universities conducted by the Times Higher Education, London, 2008. Its strengths include Business, Creative Media, Social Science, Computing Studies, Electronic Engineering, Science and Technology. NUS students who study at its Faculty of Science and Engineering can apply for internship opportunities during their SEP stint.

On-campus accommodation is available at the Student Residence in Cornwall Street. Students have to submit their application form to the Student Residence Office (SRO) together with their SEP application.

Consular / Visa Regulations
A student visa is required. CityU will assist in the visa application by acting as the local sponsor for exchange students. Completed application form and other necessary documents should be sent to the University at least 6 weeks before the semester begins.

Health / Medical Insurance
Student should carry adequate accident and medical insurance coverage with provisions for emergency evacuation/rescuer’s expense and repatriation for both durations of studies in Hong Kong and travels within/outside Hong Kong.
If you wish to have additional insurance coverage, enrol in the “Group Personal Accident Insurance & Medical Benefits Insurance Plan for “Non-local Students” contracted by the University at HK$433 (subjected to changes). For more information, refer to http://www.cityu.edu.hk/inso/
Airport Pick-up
Exchange students will be assigned a CityU buddy who can be contacted for airport pickup. Details on general airport pick-up service will be provided at a later date.
