Thailand: Youth Exchange Program - “ASEAN Youth & the Evolving Regional Architecture”

What is this programme about?

ASEAN as a regional political bloc has made tremendous progress in various areas of cooperation in the last forty-five years. The acceleration to establish an ASEAN Community by 2015 shows the commitment by ASEAN leaders to strengthen regional cooperation and move towards a more integrated community. However, disparities abound among member countries especially those with transitional economies. ASEAN is therefore in dire need of a firm regional architecture that is ASEAN-centered, and the potential of the next generation will shape this evolving regional architecture in achieving unity and stability.

Hosted by the ASEAN Studies Center of Thailand’s Chulalongkorn University, this 11-day programme will allow participants to learn more about ASEAN in areas related to the three intertwined pillars – political security, economic development and socio-cultural understanding.
