What is this programme about?
NTU’s Summer Intensive Program for Chinese Language & Culture Explore Taiwan is a four-week program aimed to help you build competence in Chinese language and experiencing Taiwanese culture.

What is the academic content?
The programme consists of instructors to help you learn Mandarin Chinese and become familiar with the local blend of East Asian cultures in this short period of time, within a supportive framework. Through a series of English-taught lectures and field-trips, you will look into a particular environmental or sociocultural aspect of Taiwan. There will also be a one-day field trips help you to understand Taiwanese culture more directly, and a two-day trip is organized so that you can explore outside Taipei too.
What is the student accommodation?
Housing is provided by the BOT Shui-Yuan Dormitory, offering single rooms within an on-campus student residential
complex, equipped with sports facilities and spacious communal areas.

Please note, these are estimated expenses and actual expenses may differ based on price shifts and personal spending habits!
The program fee includes tuition, study materials and resources, airport transportation service, orientation, accommodation, travel insurance (NTD 1 million for the travel insurance and NTD100,000 for the accidental medical insurance), cultural events, company visits, and 1-day tour of Taipei. A complimentary group shuttle service will be offered between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (Terminals 1 and 2) and the campus.
Is financial assistance available?
Yes. Students can apply for the NASA Enhancement Bursary* (by Financial Need) or NASA Enhancement Scholarship (by Merit). More information here.
Number of placements available?
Up to the discretion of Partner University.

Is a visa required?
Students are to consult the Taiwan Embassy to determine if a visa is required and to apply for an entry visa if needed.
