Korea University (KU) International Summer Campus Programme


What is this program about?

Each International Summer Campus course condenses a full semester into 6 weeks. ISC provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn about South Korea through an academic and cultural immersion. 

At the same time, selected students will be given an opportunity to intern in the private-sector’s business area in Korea, such as Samsung and LG. This overseas work experience allows students to earn resume credentials and build up their CVs.

What is the academic content?

No prior knowledge of Korean is necessary for enrolment as the medium of instruction for all courses is English (except for Korean language classes). Classes are held from Monday through Thursday.NUS students can select various courses in fields ranging from Economics and Business, Humanities, Korean Studies, Sociology & Cultural Studies, Law, Politics & International Relations, Science and Korean Language.

Academic credit MAY be available. Credit for the programme is strictly at the student’s discretion. Students interested in obtaining credit must work with their faculty for credit mapping. IRO does not apply for credit transfer on the students’ behalf.

Is financial assistance available?

Yes. Students can apply for a study travel grant from the International Relations Office.


Number of placements available?

Direct application to KU, number of placements dependent on KU’s admission policy for the year


What are the eligibility requirements?

 
  • Students should not be in their graduating semester prior to participating in this programme.
  • NUS undergraduates from any faculty who have completed at least one year of study at NUS prior to participating in this programme (For internship only).
  • Minimum CAP score of 3.3 (For internship only).

 

Is a visa required?

Yes. KU will assist in providing documentation needed to apply for a visa.

Students are to consult the Embassy of Korea in Singapore to determine if a visa is required and to apply for an entry visa if needed.
