Fudan University International Summer Session


What is this program about?

Fudan University International Summer Session will provide a 5-week course study and cultural experience to international students from all around the world. Students will have the opportunity to get to know China, experience Shanghai and be part of Fudan University. Fudan University students will also have the chance to study and communicate with international students. This program will help you to better understand multiculturalism, form an international vision, and improve your international communication skills.

What is the programme content?

There are two parts: content courses conducted in English and Chinese language courses.

Content courses will cover three aspects: Chinese Society and Politics, Chinese History and Culture, and Chinese Economy and Management. There are 14 content courses and Chinese language courses of 4 different levels for students to choose from. Cultural lectures and visits will also be included. Each course is designed as a weekly 8 academic-hour course. Students can choose one or two content courses and Chinese language course is optional. Each content course has 39 study hours (2 credits) and each Chinese language course has 40 study hours (2 credits). After successful completion of the study, each student will be awarded a Fudan University transcript.

On-campus accommodation could be arranged.

On-campus Accommodation:

Main building: Double room 70 RMB /per day per person
Single room 100 RMB /per day per person
(Facilities: Bathroom, air-con, TV, telephone, and Internet access, cable TV access. Beddings will be provided.)

Sub-building: single room 55 RMB (around 9 USD) / per day
(Facilities: Four-bedroom apartment, two bathrooms, air-con, telephone, and Internet access. Beddings will be provided.)


Is financial assistance available?

Yes. Students can apply for the NASA Enhancement Bursary* (by Financial Need) or NASA Enhancement Scholarship (by Merit). More information here.


Number of placements available?

Dependent on the Partner University.


What are the eligibility requirements?

Students should not be in their graduating semester prior to participating in this programme.
CAP of 3.0 and above. 


Is a visa required?

Yes. Students are to consult the Chinese Embassy in Singapore to determine if a visa is required and to apply for an entry visa if needed.

Students are responsible for ensuring that they have proper entry documents for all countries they plan to visit as part of this programme!
