French-NUS Double Degree Programme


For NUS Students

A collaboration between NUS French Grandes Écoles since 1999, French-NUS Double Degree Programme (FDDP) provides you the opportunity to get the best of both worlds by obtaining a two degrees from NUS and another from one of the five French Grandes Écoles. You will also get exposure to foreign cultures and form networks with Singaporeans and foreigners.

The five premier French Grandes Écoles under FDDP are:

 

 

Programme Structure

Year

1 & 2
  • Study at NUS for the 1st and 2nd year
  • Undergo technical preparation in Mathematics and Physics
  • Participate in French language preparation at the Centre for Language Studies (CLS)
  • Participate in 2 Language Immersion Programmes in France ( AY1 S2 and AY2 S1)
3 & 4
  • Study at a Grand École  (GE) in France
  • Compulsory industrial attachment in some, but not all, of the GEs
5
  • Undertake the Masters Programme at NUS


After successful completion of the programme, students are awarded 3 degrees -  Bachelor’s degree with Honors and Master’s degree from NUS, and the Diplôme d'ingénieur” from the French Grande.

For students attending École Polytechnique, they will receive an additional “Diplôme de l École Polytechnique”, i.e. a second Master’s degree in a specialized domain.


Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

 
  • Be NUS student from the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science (majoring in Mathematics/Physics) and the School of Computing.
  • Be among the top 5% to 10% of their faculty.
  • Have a strong affiliation towards French culture and language. No prior knowledge of French language is required at the point of application.
  • Be prepared to make the adjustments necessary to live in a different culture and at a different pace of life.

 

Application Procedure

 
  • At the end of their first semester in NUS, nominated students will be invited by their respective faculty to apply.
  • Students nominated by their faculty should submit their applications for the programme

 

 
  • By 15 December of the previous year for enrolment in Semester 1 (August)
  • By 15 May of the previous year for enrolment in Semester 2 (January)
