Inbound Programme for overseas students
What is this programme about?
With the aim to groom the leader in you, the TF LEaRN Programme @ NUS nurtures the next generation of Asian leaders by providing opportunities for cultural exchange, networking, community engagement and leadership development.
Students from ASEAN and China, India, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan are eligible to apply. Please click here for the attached list of eligible universities.
Selected students receive S$ 6,500 during their exchange.
When does it take place?
The Programme takes place during your semester exchange:
Semester 1: August - December
Semester 2: January - May
Where does it take place?
During your semester exchange in NUS.
What is the content?

Academic Courses
TF Scholars will take 3-4 courses in NUS and must obtain a minimum overall Cumulative Average Point (CAP) of 3.0 out of 5.0 during their exchange in NUS.

Community Involvement
TF Scholars are required to spend a minimum of 15 hours on at least one community involvement project in the host country.

Host Programme
Inbound TF Scholars will be matched to a host, who is a former NUS TF Scholar. They are strongly encouraged to meet their hosts to network, build relationships and familiarise themselves with local life in Singapore. Do note that there is no home-stay involved.

TF LEaRN Activities
All TF LEaRN activities are compulsory.
Examples of activities conducted are the Introductory Briefing, Temasek Learning Journey, Service Learning Workshop and an ASEAN event. Scholars are required to help organise the events, when called upon by IRO. The events will be held in Singapore.

TF Scholars are required to share their experience and learning with fellow students in their home countries and with fellow LEaRN students through seminars and other platforms.

TF Scholars are required to help promote the programme when called upon by IRO.

What does it include?
A scholarship of S$ 6,500 by Temasek Foundation.
The scholarship will be disbursed in two instalments, upon satisfactory completion of the programme.
What are the eligibility requirements?

Be nominated by your home university to participate in the TF LEaRN Programme @ NUS.

Be a full-time coursework undergraduate who has completed at least one year of study in your home university;

Must study in your country of citizenship;
-
Within the top 10% cohort in academic performance;
-
Be fluent in English;
-
Have interest in community service as evidenced from participation in activities and projects in their home countries, and preferably have served in leadership positions;
-
Must fully commit to all aspects of the programme.

How do I apply?
Please note that only applications from students nominated by your office will be processed.
Nominated students are required to apply for both:

- Non-Graduating Exchange (Hardcopy and online application) concurrently

Students must be successful in their Non-Graduating Exchange application (No. 3-4 below) in order to participate in the TF LEaRN Programme @ NUS.
Please note the application deadlines and procedures for both semester 1 (August - December) and semester 2 (January - May).

- Copy of passport page showing nationality and personal details
- Academic transcript(s) issued by the home university and endorsed with the university’s seal and official signatory (With English translation, if applicable). Only original academic transcripts of degree programmes completed and/or currently in progress will be accepted
- Letter from your home university’s Student Exchange or Study Abroad Office certifying approved exchange course type, duration of exchange and level of exchange (University, faculty or department). This is different from the TF LEaRN nomination sheet.
- Letter from the home university certifying your level of proficiency in the foreign language if you wish to read language modules in NUS (With prefix “LA”. E.g. LAC/LAF)
- Copy of TOEFL/IELTS - for applicants who wish to read law modules and are from non-English medium universities
