France: NUS - Viva Santé Summer International Internship Programme in Paris

What is this programme about?

Viva Santé Group is a multi-national company with headquarters in France and presence in 50 countries including Singapore. The Group is comprised of five companies specializing in Health Care and Wellness products, e.g. Urgo Medical, Urgo Santé, Laboratoires Juva Sante, and Laboratoires Super Diet. Employing around 2,200 people worldwide and with a turnover of € 458 million in 2010, Viva Santé achieved continuous market growth and owned well-known brands on the European and international healthcare markets.

NUS – Viva Santé Internship Program in Paris provides interns with an opportunity to join the internal consultancy team at Viva Santé and carry out various projects to assist the company’s management in market analysis and business development. Successful candidates can expect a full-time offer of an operational position at Viva Santé Group’s regional office in Singapore, following completion of university studies.


When does the programme take place?

July 8 – December 13 (5 months)

(Students will need to apply for a Leave of Absence in order to participate in the internship).

What is the internship content?

Multi-disciplinary across all faculties

Academic credit MAY be available. Credit for the internship is strictly at the student’s discretion. Students interested in obtaining credit must work with their faculty for credit mapping and obtain credit transfer approval from their Faculty before leaving for Paris. IRO does not apply for credit transfer on the students’ behalf.

Internship vacancies are available in Strategic Marketing Consultancy & Business Development. Interns might be tasked with the following projects depending on their interest and areas of expertise.

  • Commercial Roles:
   
  • What would be a relevant e-commerce strategy for VivaSanté in Europe ? Propose and recommend the action plan.
  • How to optimize our commercial effort in one country? Recommend an improved commercial organization (number of representatives, sectors, commercial pressure).
 
  • Business Development:
   
  • Should we and how could we introduce the brand ‘X’ in the new country ‘Y’ ? What would be the best partnerships to develop to do so ? Recommend the best action plan.
  • Assess the relative interest of the different countries around the world for VivaSanté.
 
  • Marketing:
   
  • VivaSanté supplies wound-care products (plasters) for various types of wounds and injuries.  What would be the competitive landscape for our products for China market?
  • Shall we go into the market of food supplements in Latin America? If so, what would be our marketing mix and product ranges?
 
  • Management Accountancy & Financial Controlling
   
  • What needs to be done to optimize our sales forecast systems, procedures & organizations?
  • What are the processes within VivaSante that need improvement to increase the company’s productivity?

 

What is the student accommodation?

Interns will be responsible for sourcing for their own accommodation for the duration of the internship. IRO and Viva Santé might be able provide information and leads to enable interns to identify suitable housing options in Paris.


How much does the programme cost?

An estimate of living expenses below should give a good indication of cost for a 3 month internship. Please use this guide to calculate your own cost estimate for the duration of your internship if it is longer than 3 months. Please note, these are estimated expenses and actual expenses may differ based on price shifts and personal spending habits.

Is financial assistance available?

Interns will receive a monthly salary of €900 – €1,100 use S$ depending on their qualification and experience.

Students can apply for NUS-funding through  NASA Enhancement Awards.

What are the eligibility requirements?

 
  • Any Faculty
  • CAP of 3.0 or above
  • Students in their 2nd or 3rd year of studies
  • Interest in business and with strong business related skills
  • Previous work experience in market analysis and business development
  • A quick learner with strong analytical skills who is interested in an operational position with VivaSante office in Singapore upon completion of studies.
  • Knowledge of French language is a plus

 

Is a visa required?

VivaSanté will provide interns with an internship invitation letter needed to apply for a visa. Students are to consult the Embassy of France in Singapore to apply for an entry visa if needed.
