India: Internship Programme at Singapore Airlines
What is this programme about?
Singapore Airlines, founded in 1972, is a global company dedicated to providing air transportation services of the highest quality and to maximising returns for the benefit of its shareholders and employees. It has a route network extending to more than 60 destinations in over 30 countries. As at 31 March 2012, Singapore Airlines has a staff strength of 22,746 and net profit of S$336 million (FY 2011).
Singapore Airlines is the world’s most awarded airline, and it was recently named the Best International Airline by Shanghai Morning Post 2012 Tourism Awards.
The NUS – Singapore Airlines Internship Programme in Mumbai, India provides interns with an opportunity to work in the areas of transport management and marketing in the aviation industry.
When does the programme take place?
June to July semester break for 8 – 12 weeks.
Where does the programme take place?
Mumbai, India.
What is the internship content?
Interns will be involved in transport management or marketing.
Academic credit MAY be available. Students interested in obtaining credit must consult their faculties about the procedures and requirements for credit mapping before embarking on the internships. Academic credit is at the sole discretion of the faculty. IRO does not apply for credit transfer on the behalf of students.
What is the student accommodation?
Interns will be responsible for sourcing for their own accommodation for the duration of the internship. IRO and Singapore Airlines might be able provide information and leads to enable interns to identify suitable housing options in Mumbai.
How much does the programme cost?
There is no programme fee involved. However, interns need to pay for their own living expenses. Singapore Airlines will provide a monthly stipend for interns.

Please note, these are estimated expenses and actual expenses may differ based on price shifts and personal spending habits.
Is financial assistance available?
Singapore Airlines will provide a monthly stipend for participants.

Is a visa required?
Yes. NUS and Singapore Airlines will assist in providing documentation needed to apply for a visa. Students are to consult the High Commission of India in Singapore to determine the specifics of the visa application procedures.
Students are responsible for ensuring that they have proper entry documents for all countries they plan to visit as part of this programme!
