Italy: NUS - NEIKO New Media International Internship Programme

What is this programme about?

Established in 2003 outside the city of Venice, Italy, NEIKO New Media is an Italian company that specializes in media consulting. The mission of NEIKO is to help businesses improve their corporate communication. Products and services offered by NEIKO create a sense of appeal and modernity and include graphic design, video & multimedia, website, and ipad apps.

A NUS undergraduate student will have the opportunity to intern at NEIKO New Media for 5-6 months. NEIKO is looking for an intern with knowledge and expertise in graphic design and/or mobile application development.

Internship duties will include the following:

Develop new media products including catalogues, brochures, videos, and websites Manage multimedia projects After 5-6 months of internship with the NEIKO New Media in Italy, an intern with an outstanding performance might be considered for a subsequent paid internship with the company’s new Middle - East branch in Doha (Qatar). Dates and length of the internship in Doha is negotiable between the intern and company manager.

(Students will need to apply for a Leave of Absence in order to participate in the internship).

What is the internship content?

Academic credit MAY be available. Credit for the internship is strictly at the student’s discretion. Students interested in obtaining credit must work with their faculty for credit mapping. A list of SEP faculty coordinators and administrators can be found here. IRO does not apply for credit transfer on the students’ behalf.

How much does the programme cost?

Below are estimated living expenses for a 3-month internship in Venice, Italy.

Local Transportation	S$35/month
Accommodation	S$ 400/month
Meals	S$300/month
Personal Spending (entertainment, dining)	S$300/month
Estimated expenses for a 3 month internship including airfare	S$5,000

Please note, these are estimated expenses and actual expenses may differ based on price shifts, spending habits and personal travels.  

Is financial assistance available?

NEIKO New Media will provide the intern with the following benefits:

A monthly stipend of 400 Euro Lunch Performance bonus at the end of the internship

Intern can apply for the NASA Enhancement Awards through IRO.

What are the eligibility requirements?

Any Faculty CAP of 3.0 or above Students in year 1, 2 and 3. Intern’s final semester has to be spent at NUS Skilled in graphic design Having experience in developing catalogues, videos, and websites Being able to communicate Arab is an asset but not a requirement

 

Is visa required?

Students are to consult Embassy of Italy in Singapore to determine if a visa is required and to apply for an entry visa if needed.
