Argentina: Internship Programme with Intern Latin America
What is this programme about?
Intern Latin America offers students an opportunity to intern with a top firm in Argentina, Buenos Aires, in a wide range of industries and at the same time experience the charming Argentine culture, at an affordable price (compared to the market rate). Some of the industries include tourism, politics, fashion, law, finance, PR and marketing, and journalism. Programmes can be tailored to student’s skills set and interests, including option for a 4 to 12-week programme, and opportunity to take Spanish classes.
Intern Latin America is an organisation that aims to spearhead the growth of the region by providing talented and ambitious international students programs that combine professional experience with cultural immersion.
When does the programme take place?
May to July is the most popular period for internships. However, the programme is being offered throughout the year, with start dates on the 1st Saturday of every month. Internships can last between 4 and 12 weeks and students choose their own start date (e.g. 1st June, 6th July etc) and duration.

What is the internship content?
Internship positions are multi-disciplinary (Spanish not required). Internship placements are available in the following fields/industries:

Academic credit MAY be available. Students interested in obtaining credit must consult their faculties about the procedures and requirements for credit mapping before embarking on the internships. Academic credit is at the sole discretion of the faculty. IRO does not apply for credit transfer on the behalf of students.

What is the student accommodation?
Students will be housed in fully furnished shared apartment with a private bedroom, or homestay with a private bedroom.

Please note, these are estimated expenses and actual expenses may differ based on price shifts and personal spending habits.
Upon shortlisted by NUS and Intern Latin America, students have to pay a deposit of USD800, which is fully refundable if students are not placed in a role that they approve of.
Is financial assistance available?

How many placements are available?
There is no pre-determined limit on the number of placements available to NUS students.
Is a visa required?
Depending on the type of internship and your nationality, a visa may be required. Intern Latin America will advise if a visa is needed and assist in providing documentation needed to apply for a visa (if needed). Students are to consult the Embassy of Argentina in Singapore to determine the specifics of the visa application procedures (if a visa is needed).

How do I apply?
The application deadline is 2 months before start of intended internship. For students who intent to intern in the coming semester break, please submit your application by 1 April 2013.
