What is this program about?

The HKAC i-Intern programme offers NUS Undergraduate students an 8 weeks internship opportunity in Hong Kong at an affordable price (compared to the market rate).

Internship possibilities include (but are not restricted to) those in the field of Social Science, NGOs, Think Tanks, General Business and Administration, Real Estate, Marketing and Hospitality.

What is the academic/intern content?

A customized internship placement will be arranged for each participant, based on their interest, future career goals, as well as their current skill set and experience.


What does it include?

Program fee includes:

 
  • An eight week unpaid internship in a medium size company
  • Welcome orientation
  • Shared accommodations (only for those who pay for the price with housing)
  • Group social and cultural activities on weekends
  • Medical insurance


Program fee does NOT include:

 
  • Airfare
  • Actual visa cost
  • Daily meals
  • Personal travel and expenses

 

Programme Fee Cancellation Policy & Charges

 
  • Cancellation only takes effect when we receive written notice from the university.
  • Cancellation notice prior to March 31 will be charged US$800.
  • Cancellation notice between April 1 and May 3 will be charged US$1,200.
  • Cancellation notice between May 4 and June 13 will be charged full program fee.

Is financial assistance available?

Yes. Students can apply for the NASA Enhancement Bursary* (by Financial Need) or NASA Enhancement Scholarship (by Merit). More information here.

What are the eligibility requirements?

 
  • Full-time NUS undergraduates (2nd year students are preferred)
  • Age: 20-26
  • Students majoring in the following: Accounting, Design, Marketing, Engineering, Law, Science, Technology, Social Work, Politics, Business and Finance
  • Passport/Visa: All applicants must hold a passport valid until at least March 2014
  • Students should not be in their graduating semester prior to participating in this programme.

 

Is a visa required?

Yes. HKAC will assist in providing documentation needed to apply for a visa. 

Students are to consult the Embassy of China in Singapore to determine if a visa is required and to apply for an entry visa if needed.
