NUS Summer International Internship Program in Paris


What is this programme about?

European Study Abroad (EUSA), is an international, non-profit study abroad organization that places nearly 2,000 students in comprehensive academic internship programs each year spanning North America and Europe, and across a broad spectrum of industries.  NUS Summer Internship Program in Paris provides unpaid academic internship placements in a variety of fields in Paris, France.  EUSA strives to find the best fit placement for each of students.  The highlight of the EUSA Summer Internship in Paris is a family home stay component which is designed to provide interns with opportunities to practice their French language daily and obtain first-hand exposure to French culture.

What is the internship content?

 
  • Multi-disciplinary across all faculties
  • 35 hours of internship per week Monday-Friday.
  • Academic credit MAY be available. Credit for the internship is strictly at the student’s discretion.               Students interested in obtaining credit must work with their faculty for credit mapping. IRO does not apply for credit transfer on the students’ behalf.
  • While students might encounter some amount of English in their internships (written or verbal), French is the main medium of communication at internship sites.

EUSA Internship Placement Process

After IRO nomination, EUSA will contact you and ask you to provide your CV (formatted for Paris workplace) and an essay (in French, download Essay Prompt here) in preparation for your placement meeting.

Each participant will have an individual placement meeting with a member of EUSA Placement Team. These meetings will take place via Skype/telephone or in EUSA office in Paris if you are already in France. Your placement meeting will last anywhere from 15-30 minutes based on your questions and preparation.


What is the student accommodation?

Interns will be staying with their host family in Paris area throughout the program. Students who secure accommodation of their own in Paris have the option of opting out of home stay housing provided by EUSA to lower programme costs.


How much does the programme cost?

Programme fee for 8 week program is US $6,466 per student.

The programme fee includes:

 
  • 8 week internship
  • Home stay accommodation
  • Orientation and cultural activities
  • Full-time on-site support and emergency assistance
  • Individual telephone pre-placement meetings in French with each participating student
  • Third party liability insurance for each student


An estimate of living expenses below should give a good indication of cost for a 8.5 week program. Please note, these are estimated expenses and actual expenses may differ based on price shifts and personal spending habits.

Yes. Students are eligible to apply for the NASA Enhancement Awards.

What are the eligibility requirements?

 
  • Any Faculty
  • Full-time student status
  • CAP of 3.0 or above
  • Students must have completed at least one year of study by start of internship
  • All students are required to have the equivalent of fifth-semester college level French proficiency in order to participate in the program (level intermediate 1 or B1). All internships are in French.

 

Is a visa required?

EUSA will assist in providing documentation needed to apply for a visa. Students are to consult the Embassy of France in Singapore to determine if a visa is required and to apply for an entry visa if needed.
