India: Internship Programme at Ascendas Services (India) Pvt Ltd
What is this programme about?
Ascendas is Asia’s leading provider of business space solutions with more than 30 years of experience across the region. Based in Singapore, Ascendas has built a strong regional presence and serves a global clientele of over 2,400 customers in 33 cities across 10 countries including Singapore, China, India, South Korea and Australia.
Ascendas specializes in master planning, developing, managing and marketing IT parks, industrial & logistics parks, business parks, science parks, hi-tech facilities, office and retail space for a host of industries. Leveraging on its track record and experience, Ascendas has introduced new business space concepts such as integrated communities and solutions which seamlessly combine high-quality business, lifestyle, retail and hotel spaces to create conducive human-centric work-live-play-learn environments. Its flagship projects include the Singapore Science Park, International Tech Park Bangalore in India, Dalian-Ascendas IT Park in China and Carmelray Industrial Park II in the Philippines. Ascendas provides end-to-end real estate solutions, assisting corporate customers through the entire real estate process.
About Ascendas in India:
Ascendas India, the sub-continental arm of Ascendas Pte Ltd develops IT Parks/SEZs, Build-to-Suit and Ready-Built Facilities. Starting with the landmark International Tech Park Bangalore (ITPB), Ascendas has since followed on its success with International Tech Park Chennai (ITPC) and CyberVale, an IT Park within Mahindra World City in Chennai and CyberPearl and The V in Hyderabad.
In June 2007, Ascendas launched the Ascendas India Development Trust (AIDT), a private real estate fund focusing on integrated property development projects. In August 2007, the Ascendas India Trust (a-iTrust) was launched as Singapore’s first listed Indian property trust seeded by five IT business parks in India, namely the International Tech Park Bangalore, International Tech Park Chennai, and CyberPearl, The V and aVance Business Hub in Hyderabad.
Ascendas is now developing an International Tech Park in Pune (ITPP). In addition to IT Parks, Ascendas is also developing integrated projects with sector specific SEZs, commercial, residential and supporting social amenities in Gurgaon and Chennai.
The Ascendas – NUS Internship Programme in Bangalore, India provides interns with an opportunity to work with Ascendas senior management on Marketing & Lease Management, or Facilities & Projects Management.
When does the programme take place?
May to July semester break for 8 - 12 weeks.

What is the internship content?
Internship in Marketing & Lease Management: Intern will be involved in market analysis, marketing, negotiating and leasing process of commercial business space in ITPB. The intern must be majoring in Business or Real Estate, or have taken courses in Marketing or Real Estate.
Internship in Facilities & Projects Management: Intern will study facilities and projects management processes/systems and provide suggestions on enhancement of systems and processes for effective projects and facilities management of facilities and buildings. The intern is required to be majoring in Project & Facilities Management or Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
What is the student accommodation?
Interns will be responsible for sourcing for their own accommodation for the duration of the internship. IRO and Ascendas might be able provide information and leads to enable interns to identify suitable housing options in Bangalore.
How much does the programme cost?
There is no programme fee involved. However, participants need to pay for their own living expenses. Ascendas will provide a monthly stipend of Rs 25,000 (≈ SGD580) for participants.

Please note, these are estimated expenses and actual expenses may differ based on price shifts and personal spending habits.
Is financial assistance available?
Ascendas will provide a monthly stipend of Rs 25,000 (≈ SGD580) for participants.

How many placements are available?
1 in Marketing & Lease Management and 1 in Facilities & Projects Management.
Is a visa required?
Yes. NUS and Ascendas will assist in providing documentation needed to apply for a visa. Students are to consult the High Commission of India in Singapore to determine the specifics of the visa application procedures.
Students are responsible for ensuring that they have proper entry documents for all countries they plan to visit as part of this programme!
