What is this programme about?

Established in 1986 in the province of Padova , ArtiGlass S.r.l. is one of the most well-known companies specializing in laboratory supplies in Italy. Products made by ArtiGlass range from glassware and plastic ware, to chemical and reagents, to clamps, instruments, and laboratory furniture.

With over 20 years of experience in manufacture and distribution of laboratory supplies. ArtiGlass has provided high-quality products to its clients which include laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and universities.

ArtiGlass’ Corporate Profile

ArtiGlass is looking for a NUS undergraduate student to work as a business development intern at the company’s office in Padova. The internship will be unpaid and include the following responsibilities:

Obtain a good understanding of how a SME works in international markets in various aspects including purchases, sales, marketing, transportation and logistics operations Develop opportunities to expand the company’s business to Singapore and other Asian countries( e.g. identifying potential customers, and overseas exhibition and trade show events in which the company can participate) Manage existing overseas accounts in South Korea, Japan, China and Singapore. Plan trade missions to those overseas markets (if any)

What is the internship content?

Academic credit MAY be available. Credit for the internship is strictly at the student’s discretion. Students interested in obtaining credit must work with their faculty for credit mapping. A list of SEP faculty coordinators and administrators can be found here. IRO does not apply for credit transfer on the students’ behalf.

How much does the programme cost?

Below are estimated living expenses for a 3-month internship in Padova, Italy.

Insurance	S$70/month
Local Transportation	S$35/month
Accommodation	S$400/month
Meals	S$300/month
Personal Spending (entertainment, dining)	S$300/month
Estimated expenses for a 3 month internship including airfare	S$5,000 – S$6,000

Please note, these are estimated expenses and actual expenses may differ based on price shifts, spending habits and personal travels.

Is financial assistance available?

The internship is unpaid. Intern can apply for the NASA Enhancement Awards through IRO.

What are the eligibility requirements?

Students majoring in Business Administration, Science and Engineering
Self-motivated and enthusiastic
Comfortable at building rapport with clients
Strong leadership skills
CAP of 3.0 or above
Students in their graduating semester are not eligible.  

Is visa required?

Students are to consult Embassy of Italy in Singapore to determine if a visa is required and to apply for an entry visa if needed.
