Korea University (KU) International Summer Campus Programme

The International Summer Campus (ISC) Programme is conducted during the special term of June to August. Each ISC course condenses a full semester into 6 weeks.  ISC provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn about South Korea through academic and cultural immersion.   At the same time, selected students will be given an opportunity to intern at Chaebols or reputable Korean companies. The overseas working experience lets students earn resume credentials and build up their CVs.

Due to the highly competitive nature of the program, not all applicants will be guaranteed an internship position.  This option is not compulsory for the ISC Programme.

More information on Internship is available at : http://isc.korea.ac.kr/v4/src/program/internship.php

Internship Date (optional) :  2 June to 27 June  2009

The main component of the programme begins in late June which condenses a full-semester load of coursework into 6 weeks.  No prior knowledge of Korean is necessary for enrolment as the medium of instruction for all courses is English (except for Korean language classes).

International Summer Campus Programme:  29 June to 7 August 2009 (6 weeks)

Module Choices:  NUS students can select various courses, ranging from Economics and Business, Humanities, Korean Studies, Sociology & Cultural Studies, Law Politics & International Relations, Science and Korean Language.  Students must complete at least 3 courses to be awarded with a Certificate of Completion.

Modular Credits:  Each course is worth 3 credits at Korea University.  Credit transfer is subject to NUS Faculty’s approval of the proposed study plan.  The final decision is at the discretion of the respective Faculties.

Grading Policy:  Academic performance is assessed according to four different criteria: exams, assignments, attendance and class participation.  Korea University's academic regulations state that class attendance of at least 70 percent is required to earn a passing grade.

Field Trip:  Students will experience Korean culture through comprehensive & fun-filled excursion, and socialising with faculty members, other participants, buddies & staff.  The cost of the field trip is included in the ISC course fees.

Accommodation:  Students will be housed either at the CJ International House or Anam Hall Korea University.  The rooms are furnished with single/twin beds, mattress, blanket, dresser, desk and chair.  Each room is air-conditioned and equipped with connections for telephone and internet access.
