Peking University Summer School International

Peking University offers its inaugural summer programme to international students (non-Chinese nationals) from 29 June to 31 July 2009.

There is an array of courses covering issues related to China's politics, economy, environment and culture as well as a Chinese Language course. Besides, you can experience the Chinese customs and culture through visits to selected historical and cultural sites in Beijing.

NUS-Wuhan University Summer Programme

Jointly offered by NUS and Wuhan University from 31 May to 27 June 2009, this programme is structured on an intensive basis that aims to provide a general understanding of China by focusing on topical aspects of both historical and contemporary China. Topics that will be discussed include Chinese historical traditions, Chinese world order, Chinese economy, environmental issues and legal system in contemporary China.

Other highlights include cultural immersion programme such as Chinese language classes, Chinese painting, shadow boxing etc., field trips to the Three Gorges and Terra-cotta Warriors (in Xi’an), and visits to historical sites in Wuhan.

Universitas 21 Student Summer School 2009

The University of Queensland is hosting the 6th Universitas 21 (U21) Summer School from 13 - 24 July 2009. The theme this year is “Climate Change Adaptation”.

Six students will have the opportunity to represent NUS for the two-week programme at this U21 Summer School in Brisbane, Australia.

APRU Undergraduate Summer Program 2009 at NUS

National University of Singapore will host the 4th APRU Undergraduate Summer Program for a period of two weeks, from July 13 to 24, 2009, centered on the theme “Rising to the Challenge – Global Leadership in the 21st Century."

Two undergraduate students will have the opportunity to represent NUS for this two-week program tackling leadership challenges and pressing global issues.

Summer Programme at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich - “Approaching the European Union”

The Munich International Summer University will be held from 1-21 June 2009. Students will take part in an intensive course on the European Union. The programme is entitled “Approaching the European Union” and will give students an opportunity to learn about the European Union and its relations with the world. Students will be brought on exciting excursions to the beautiful city of Salzburg in Austria, as well as to the German capital, Berlin.

International Summer Programme at the University of Ulm

The 13th International Summer Programme at the University of Ulm will be held from 2 June – 31 July 2009. Students will take part in an intensive German language course as well as a course in practical Physics training, and will have the chance to take part in trips to the scenic Swabian Highlands and see Germany's beautiful castles.

As the German summer semester overlaps with the period of this summer school, participating students will have the chance to make friends with local students and exchange students from all over the world.

University of Alberta Summer School 2009

AcquaSummer 2009

AcquaSummer 2009 is an exciting 5-week summer program organized by Tec de Monterrey’s Campus Queretaro from 25th May to 8th July. Recognizing the immense value of water as a life-giving resource and the role of Mexican water sources to the sustainability of global ecological equilibrium, activities and classes in AcquaSummer 2009 will reinforce the importance of water and expose students to aspects of Mexican culture, including academic field trips to sites of historical and cultural significance around Mexico

University of Hong Kong Summer Institute (HKU)

HKU offers the 4th "Asia as the Global Future" course which aims at enhancing awareness of the importance of Aisa in world affairs between 21 June to 19 July 2009. In parallel to inspiring lectures, students will also be exposed to key issues in Asian affairs through a series of field trips in Hong Kong, Macau, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Seoul.
