The Student Exchange Programme (SEP) is an important part of a global education at NUS, providing opportunities for you to study at premier institutions around the world. When you spend 1 or 2 semesters at an overseas partner university, you are exposed to different academic programmes, cultures and languages, and are given the chance to build up invaluable international networks. You also hone your survival skills as you adapt to foreign environments, and grow to be independent and resourceful. Such experiences will help prepare you to meet the challenges associated with further studies or ventures into the corporate world.
In this age of globalization, SEP is YOUR window to the world.
In order to cope with your studies during SEP in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland or South Korea, you should have a good knowledge of French/German/Korean, besides fulfilling the SEP eligibility criteria required by your faculty and/or the Registrar’s Office (http://www.nus.edu.sg/registrar/edu/UG/sep_general.html).
To get an idea of what languages are spoken in the various countries and hence, the language requirements for those countries, please refer to the table below.
Students who are keen to go on SEP in the French/German/Korean-speaking countries listed above, but who do not have the requisite language skills, are invited to apply for the French/German/Korean Language Preparation Programme (LPP). The LPP will equip you with the necessary language skills for student exchange in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland or South Korea.
